In accordance with Article 251 of the Constitution of Pakistan, 1973, the National Language Promotion Agency (Maqtadra Qaumi Language) was established on October 4, 1979 with the goal of removing obstacles to the adoption of the national language “Urdu” as the official language and promoting its use. To provide advice to the government on how to implement Urdu and to encourage collaboration and cooperation amongst different academic, research, and educational institutions.
